NEW YORK - Mariah Ties Elvis With 17th Number One

Mariah Carey is closing 2005 with another number one song. The pop star's tune "Don't Forget About Us" just made it to the top of the Billboard Hot 100, earning Mariah her 17th career chart-topper.

That puts the diva in a second-place tie with Elvis Presley for the most number one hits in the rock era. The Beatles hold the top spot with 20 tunes reaching the peak.

Mariah is also the only artist in 2005 to score two number one songs. Her tune "We Belong Together" held the top spot for 14 weeks earlier in the year.
